Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, Poison, and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts have added five new cities onto their “Stadium Tour” for 2022. The long-delayed trek will now also hit Toronto on August 8th; Indianapolis on August 16th; Vancouver on September 2nd; Edmonton and September 4th; with a new final date of September 9th in Las Vegas.
According to the announcement: “Tickets for the new dates will go on-sale to the general public beginning Friday, February 25th at 10 am local time at www.LiveNation.com, check local listings for details. Def Leppard & Mötley Crüe VIP offerings for the 5 new shows will be available coinciding with the general onsale next Friday February 25th at 10 am local time.”
Mötley Crüe said in a joint statement: “It's on! We don't think we've ever looked forward more to kicking off a tour than this one. We can't wait to finally see all the fans across North America again. Get ready for a wild ride this summer!”
Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott added: “On behalf of the band, we’re beyond thrilled that the stadium tour is finally happening this summer. . . it’s been a while coming and we can’t wait to get back on stage again & we can’t wait to see you in one of the many stadiums soon!”
Poison's Bret Michaels said: “There are not enough words to thank the three generations of fans for making this such an exciting, record breaking, historical tour with the fastest sell outs in history at these stadiums.”
Joan Jett added: “We are so excited to be back out on the road! We missed doing what we love most and can’t wait to see the fans out there again!”
Frontman Vince Neil said a while back he wanted Mötley Crüe to go out the way it came in: “Y'know, we didn't want to be one of those bands that maybe have one guy left in it or somebody's brother or something like that. Y'know, we wanted to be — we wanted to go out with the four founding members of Mötley Crüe and go out on top, and leave a legacy of a band called Mötley Crüe.”
Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen told us he and his bandmates always look forward to playing their hits out on the road: “Every night when someone's singing along — especially when there's a lot of young kids there, 16-year-olds and that — it is fresh, actually makes you feel really good when there's a whole new breed of people just singing away to songs that you've done. It doesn't really matter whether it's a new song or an old song, it's still our song, so it's a huge compliment. It really is, it's the best thing in the world.”
