NICKI MINAJ MAY BE NOMINATED FOR A 2023 GRAMMY AFTER ALL: Reports say that Nicki Minaj may be nominated for a Grammy Award after all. Last week, the rap star called out the Grammys after they blocked her hit “Super Freaky Girl,” from the rap categories at the 2023 Grammy Awards and put it forward for the Best Pop Solo Performance. According to Variety, the rapper still appears on the ballot in the rap division thanks to her “Do We Have a Problem?” collaboration with Lil Baby, which is in content for Best Rap Performance. Nicki Minaj appears several other times on the Grammys ballot in the rap categories, for Coi Leray’s “Blick Blick,” which is on the ballot for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance, while Young Bleu’s “Love in the Way” is eligible for Best Rap Song and Best Melodic Rap Performance. The official Grammy nominations will be announced on November 15th.
ASAP ROCKY ASKS JUDGE FOR MORE TIME TO PREPARE FOR COURT DATE: A$AP Rocky has asked a judge for additional time before he is due to appear in court for allegedly shooting his former friend and ASAP Mob member ASAP Relli. According to RadarOnline, Rocky's legal team has requested additional time before he is set to appear in court. Rocky said that he is too busy with his music career, touring, and his business ventures this month to be questioned about the alleged shooting his friend accused him of being responsible for ahead of his trial. Rocky has denied shooting Relli.
GUNNA FILES FOR FOURTH MOTION FOR BOND: According to Complex, in legal docs dated October 17th, Gunna's co-lead counsel Steven Sadow said, “On three prior occasions, Defendant Kitchens has moved the Court for a reasonable bond. On each occasion, the State has made proffers at hearings that turned out to be false and/or misleading.” Sadow continued,”We now know for certain, that the State’s last-minute assertion at the third bond hearing on October 13 that there was a text message (not disclosed to Kitchens in discovery as the Court had expressly ordered) between two individuals (neither of whom was Kitchens), where one person ‘offered to murder’ another person on Kitchens’ behalf, was undeniably false.” Gunna was arrested on May 11th following a 56 count RICO indictment aainst 28 YSL associates, including Young Thug.
