Field of Honor

The lawns of Andrew Jackson’s beloved home, the Hermitage, will again provide a backdrop for an imposing display of one thousand U.S. flags as the Exchange Club of Donelson-Hermitage hosts its 2nd Annual Field of Honor® event. Building on a highly successful first year’s display, this year’s posting of the Stars and Stripes will draw the community together in dramatic fashion to honor veterans who through their service and sacrifice have given added meaning to the flag that they carried in defense of our nation.
Flags may be sponsored for $30, and the sponsors will retain the flags at the close of the event to be displayed in surrounding communities as mementos of this awe-inspiring experience. The funds raised through the Field of Honor® flag display will benefit The Family Center working to “empower parents to raise happy, healthy children.”
The panorama of red, white and blue is hard to adequately describe, but once experienced it is not to be forgotten. This is especially true as the flags will fly on the beautiful grounds of the Hermitage. There will be no charge to visit the Field of Honor® display, and all are invited to walk with us through the ordered rows of flags. This is an event not to be missed.
